Young Composers Fund

Creating the very best chamber music for brass instruments by talented young composers.

Bella Tromba have been commissioning new music since they formed 12 years ago. The music of both notable names and novice writers has been brought to life by the quartet in numerous concerts and workshops.

Bella Tromba’s intention in creating a fund for young composers is to provide a lasting legacy of music from the 21st Century. Quartet member Jo puts it this way, ‘I feel very deeply that music from our generation should be heard by future generations too.’

Please support Bella Tromba’s Kickstarter campaign. Watch the Kickstarter video to find out how every pound you give will help energetic young composers to engage with brass instruments. Plus there are great rewards on offer if you pledge to support the Young Composers Fund.

Bella Tromba want to create a legacy of quality chamber music for future generations of brass players who love to make music together.

Bella Tromba are raising money to commission young composers to write new works for brass.

We want to support the composer Peter Longworth in the early stages of his career by commissioning him to write a ten minute work for trumpet quartet. His new piece ‘Days of Bells and Flying Creatures’ is scored for Bb trumpets, flugel, piccolo trumpet and bass trumpet. Peter intends to capture an Italian day in Summer as the church bells chime across the air interacting with nature.

Peter Longworth’s music has been performed by the London Mozart Players, members of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland. His earlier work for trumpet quartet ‘Colori di Roma’ has been performed by Bella Tromba numerous times across the UK and in Europe.
